Our mission
American Women Veterans helps women who served find the help they have earned, in plain language.
Many women veterans don't know which benefits and services were built for them, or how to reach them. We gather what official sources say about health care, benefits, housing, careers and support, explain it simply, and point you to the office or phone line that can act on it.
What we do:
- Explain VA and other public programs in plain language, with links to the official sources.
- Report news that affects women veterans.
- Share careers resources and job listings for veterans.
What we don't do:
- We are not a government agency and are not part of the VA.
- We do not give medical, legal or financial advice. We point you to people who can.

Editorial standards
- Official sources. Our guides are built from official government sources, mostly VA.gov. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
- Checked before it goes up. Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Each fact is checked against its source, and a separate reviewer re-opens every link and phone number before a guide is approved and published.
- Dated. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed.
- Independent. We are not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency.
- Corrections. If you spot a mistake, tell us using the form below. We fix confirmed errors and update the review date.
