We launched in 2026 as an independent project, not a nonprofit, funded currently through clearly labeled sponsorships and reader support.
We are not affiliated with the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or any political party or campaign. Our directory listings are independently compiled and editorially reviewed; inclusion is not an endorsement.
Women have served in the U.S. military in every era — from the WAVES and WACs of the 1940s to today’s active-duty, guard, and reserve forces. We exist because that record is still often told by someone else. We’d rather it be told directly.
