CHILDCARE:

Free and Reduced Child Care Options for Military:
NACCRRA is working with the U.S. Military Services to help those who serve in the military find and afford child care that suits their unique needs. Through several innovative civilian/military efforts between the Services, NACCRRA and Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) are building the quality and capacity of child care throughout the country.

EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES:

Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces:
Unemployed Veterans, Wounded Warriors, Reserve-component service members and their spouses searching for jobs can find one-stop shopping at a Web portal designed just for them. Over 1300 employers with job openings including Fortune 500 companies. Resume building feature that translates military language into civilian terms. Help through the interview process and making the right connections with employers.

Subway Franchise Program
Subway has introduced a new program for military veterans designed to reduce their costs associated with the purchase of a new franchise. Under the new program, the $15,000 franchise fee is waived for anyone who has been honorably discharged from the United States military who wishes to open a Subway restaurant on a government or military installation. Also, the franchise fee will be reduced by 50 percent for any veteran opening a Subway unit at any non-military or non-government location.

WalMart Corporate Military Opportunities

HOUSING:

HUD-VASH Vouchers: The U.S. Housing and Urban Development program provides vouchers for homeless or nearly homeless veterans to help them establish roots, where they choose, and to help them establish a means of income. The program, HUD-VASH helps house 20,000 vets nationwide. The vouchers are not tied to specific housing units. Vets with… income put one-third of that to rent, with the vouchers covering the remainder.

National Coalition for Homeless Veterans: If you are a homeless veteran or a veteran at risk of becoming homeless, these pages provide information that you can use to seek help. They include addresses, phone numbers, and websites to find out about services, programs, and other help that is available. Keep in mind that these pages do not include all services offered. What is available in one area may be different from what is available in another, so be sure to check with local agencies to learn about services in your area.
